Grassroots Bijou is a collective of movie reviewers posting reviews of indie films at the grassroots level.
What does this mean?
Independent films are known to people either as films made outside the studio system by either smaller studios or actors/directors who have acquired their own financing, or low budget films made by aspiring filmmakers or filmmakers not part of the big studio system. For the latter we refer to these as grassroots filmmakers who work on budgets below $100,000, often much less, and often with local talent.
Though there are a lot of excellent indie films, and a lot more indie films are produced than big studio films, they don't get a lot of attention compared to the star filled big budget movies. There are also a lot of people reviewing films on their own often using social media or other sites to post their reviews and not necessarily having their own blog. Grassroots Bijou brings these two together by offering a place for many to post their reviews and for indie filmmakers to find independent movie reviewers.
